  • For Collins, RAIN is a metaphor for how we live our life, the way in which we perceive our life determines our fulfillment and joy.

In every culture, there are quotes and sayings about how when it is raining, sunshine is right around the corner.

If we view life this way, we create a path of waiting, rather than that of experiencing. With this perspective, we are waiting for the Sun - for something good to happen. The duration of this wait holds no certainty. We bank all our hopes that, in a few days, we will find happiness, robbing ourselves of the capacity the interim provides.

Collins challenges this view, for it sacrifices the beauty of here and the beauty of now. Applied to other aspects of our life, it is like the phrase “I will do that someday.” Yet we know, someday, does not necessarily ever happen.

What if instead, we stand fully in the rain as we feel our hearts completely fulfilled with the knowledge that it is this very rain that making all life around us possible? There is such a unique euphoria when we are present. We can feel the energy in the air, both, during and after a rain. It is magical, as if some power is energizing us – awakening us to the connectivity of our most internal and external worlds. That power is Nature. That power is God. That power is Appreciation. That power is your heart singing.

That power is us experiencing this very moment.

Rain is a reminder to not miss out on the “here.”
Rain is a reminder to not miss out on the “now.”

    How phenomenal is that?
