- In 1858, in Chelmsford, England, H.H. Cummings did something unheard of in the
game of Cricket. He took three wickets in three consecutive deliveries (think of it as three home runs in three consecutive innings).
The fans were so inspired by this feat of bravado, that they spontaneously
gathered up a collection to purchase him the finest bowler hat available.
Thereafter, anytime a player achieved the same feat, the rest of his team would pay for a prize Bowler Hat.
Hence the term "Hat Trick" came into being.
If we live our lives to the fullest... if we aim for the stars, we are indeed making a
"Hat Trick" out of our very wonderful story.
